My employer provided me with an opportunity to take a Management Essentials Certificate Program and it really helped further develop my management and leadership skills for a corporate setting. Through this year-long program, I was able to better understand not only the management strategies at my own company and how those affect our day-to-day and longer-term decision-making, but also key management skills like time management, process management, emotional intelligence, and motivating team members. I know that I’ll be able to apply all that I’ve learned to better lead my team and help further grow our company.

Tara Whitely – Digital Marketing Manager, Eastwood Homes

Union County is proud to work with UNC Charlotte Employer Solutions to develop a unique training opportunity for 25 of our Emerging Leaders. Our goal was to develop a five-month intensive program for employees interested in developing their leadership potential. UNC Charlotte worked with us to create an interactive, hands-on program that focused on developing leadership essentials. Participants have found the content meaningful and the facilitators engaging. Amy and her team have helped us create something special that we hope will not only provide exceptional training but also establish a training tradition in our organization.

Donna D’Alessandro – Training and Development Manager, Union County

We partnered with UNC Charlotte to deliver their Leadership Essentials Program to 22 members of our management team. This wonderful group of ours spent three days honing in their skills around communication, performance management, coaching, motivation, conflict resolution, and delegation.

Some of our managers have been leading for years, while others were just promoted and are new to leadership. Either way, ALL of them found value in the program and walked away with new skills to use in the workplace.

A big thank you to UNC Charlotte for developing our leaders to be the BEST they can be. We definitely hope to work with you again in the future.

Kristen Maxwell, PHR – Executive Vice President & Director of Human Resources, Aquesta Bank

The Five Dysfunctions of a Team program was enjoyable, informative, thought-provoking and fun! Our team was able to open up and improve our teamwork and trust.

The facilitator was very knowledgeable, passionate and engaging. We are so glad we participated… We should have done the full-day course – it was that much fun.

Susan Denton – Human Resources Manager, Eaton Corporation

Our company’s partnership with UNC Charlotte has enabled us to build and enhance leadership and management skills in our employees. Their Leadership Essentials program mixes classroom instruction with practical activities and supplemental learning materials to enhance the experience and deepen the learning.

The facilitators and coaches provide an environment that is safe but challenging, allowing participants to grow in knowledge and self-awareness. This investment in our people is an investment in our future, and we are seeing the impact in improved employee relations and engagement.

Maria T. Soderberg, PHR, SHRM-CP – Director of Human Resources, Barnhardt Manufacturing

UNC Charlotte Employer Solutions provided high-energy shots of goodness and wisdom. The lessons we learned about high-performing teams far-exceeded and surpassed anything I’ve learned in other leadership development classes.

Janet LaBar – President CEO, Charlotte Regional Business Alliance

It has been a wonderful experience getting to work with the UNC Charlotte team for our Management Essentials Program.  UNC Charlotte does a really great job of getting input from us, for upcoming classes to really tie the material to what we are experiencing in our day-to-day.  All of the instructors have been well-suited to teach our classes, having both the backgrounds and personalities to make each experience both relevant and fun.

Elizabeth Good – Human Resources Manager, Advanced Ceramic Coatings

The depth and breadth of the curriculum that UNC Charlotte Employer Solutions offers is a perfect fit for our employee professional development needs and they are one of our most valued partners in the creation of training programs for Piedmont Plastics.

Chad Roberts – Learning and Organizational Development Manager, Piedmont Plastics

Balfour Beatty worked with UNC Charlotte Employer Solutions to host a session on “Overcoming Imposter Syndrome” as a part of our Women in Construction Week activities.

The session was dynamic, interactive and provided the women on our team with valuable insight and strategies to help realize their full potential in the workplace and on a personal level. Inclusion is a core value at Balfour Beatty, and we are proud to partner with UNC Charlotte to advance that mission.

Annie Hughes – Preconstruction Director, Balfour Beatty

UNC Charlotte’s Leadership Program allows our high-potential employees to further their development and advance their career and leadership skills.

Amy and her team allowed Driven Brands to provide input and tailored the program to our specific business. It was designed to help our managers become the best version of themselves that they can be. We look forward to this continued partnership and the positive feedback from our employees who participate.

Annaliese Martin – Human Resources Manager, Driven Brands
